I’ve missed you all, but don’t worry because I’m back with a young adult novel that you will absolutely fall in love with… that is if you like books chock full of puzzles and riddles! Ladies and gentlemen, it’s my pleasure to introduce you to The Inheritance Games by Jennifer Lynn Barnes! This book has been on my shelf for a while, and once I finally pulled it down and cracked the spine I was so glad I did! One thing I really enjoyed was the chapters. They were super short, some only a page or two, which I felt helped speed the story along. If you’re a slower reader (that’s okay!) the quick chapters might break it into smaller sections that could help a little as well.

The Inheritance Games is a fast-paced suspenseful read that kept me alert and on the edge of my seat the whole time. I couldn’t put it down! Avery Grambs is a high school student who has had a rough life with her half-sister ever since her mom passed away. That’s why she’s incredibly perplexed when she gets pulled her out of school and is told that she needs to fly to Texas for the reading of Tobias Hawthorne’s will, a billionaire Avery has never even met. Yet for some reason, when the will is read, the man gives mostly his whole fortune, including the Hawthorne House, to her. The only condition is she must move into that very house, which is actually more of a secret compartment-filled mansion. But the place is currently filled with Tobias’ family, who had been expecting to get the fortune that Avery just received. Included in the bunch are the four grandsons, Nash, Grayson, Jameson, and Xander. Jameson is convinced that the high school student is his grandfather’s final puzzle, left for the rest of them to solve. With this idea in his mind, he sets off to find the answers, and Avery is pulled into the adventure as well. And tucked behind it all is a secret from the past that Grayson and Jameson are reluctant to recall. Can Avery work with the brothers to unlock the secrets stained on the mansion’s walls? Or will she be mobbed by the paparazzi before she even gets the chance? From harsh fights and harsh shots to dangerous romance and dangerous solutions, The Inheritance Games is a novel you won’t soon forget.
