Oh my gosh! This book is SUPER amazing! I have never read a book as good as this, even though I’ve read some pretty good books! 🙂  So this book is called Nubby’s Story, and it’s written by Aubre Andrus. I never heard of this book or the author until my school book fair. I was shopping for some books and this one just totally caught my eye! I couldn’t wait to read it, and when it arrived, I was so excited!

Nubby’s Story is a heartwarming tale of a boxer born without his two front legs. When he was born, everyone was sure he wasn’t going to make it. Luckily, Lou and Mark Robinson, founders of W.E.A.R, an animal rescue organization, were happy to take the little pup in. It was a struggle, and Lou and Mark weren’t sure if the boxer, now named Nubby, was going to survive. The pup did end up having some health issues, but this inspiring boxer pushed through it all. Of course, you guys are probably asking a very important question: “How did Nubby get around?” Well, what he did is actually pretty amazing. Nubby hopped!! This book includes colored pictures in the middle of the book, and it features a series of photos showing Nubby hopping onto a bed! This boxer is totally awesome! Lots of other people thought so too, because after Lou and Mark set up Nubby’s own Facebook page, a huge group of people checked it out and gave Lou and Mark(and Nubby!)a ton of support! They even formed Nubby Nation, a group of people who were totally supportive of Nubby, Lou, and Mark! So, anyway, when Nubby was old enough, Lou and Mark made the long journey to see if Nubby’s umm.. nubs, were long enough to attach prosthetic limbs to, since Nubby still wasn’t super comfortable with the wheels Lou and Mark had got him. Sadly, they weren’t, but Nubby didn’t care! He persevered, and made it to the end!
