Hello again, everyone! This is a poem I wrote called Thesaurus.

I pace back and forth

Scanning my options

Finally I lift

A book off the shelf

The Thesaurus

It’s perfect, it’s just what I need

I’ve been writing a story all day, you see

But all of my words

Seem boring and bland

But my Thesaurus will spruce it up for me

I open the cover

Words take to the air

They circle above

And I’m excited, no, delighted

For my synonym snack today

As you might know, I’ve been writing lots these days and the Thesaurus has helped me think of plenty words that are just so much more interesting than words like nice or good. I write weekly newsletter for my fifth grade class and occasionally I create a word search. When I do, I often find myself referring to the online thesaurus for some more words to add into the search. If you are a budding author, I would definitely recommend tossing in words that are more unusual than your plain, everyday words. You don’t need to use a lot, just one or two will intrigue your readers😉 That’s it from me(for now!). See you later!
