Today I’m going to be telling you about a book called Cakes. It is a recipe book(I like to call them bake books)for a change. This book is written by Melissa Ben-Ishay, who is none other than the cupcake queen herself! Melissa is the master mind of the company called Baked By Melissa. A big plus of this book is that, one, she shares her whole story on how she got to where she is now. 2, She also includes lots of baking tips like on baking times, baking equipment, and lots of other things. Anyway, once you get past that stuff, their is 4 chapters: Batters, Icing and Fillings, Glazes, and toppings. Amidst the chapters there is the occasional full recipe scattered about the book(although she says she would prefer you to mix and match batters, icings, glazes, and topping make a creation that is entirely yours). Now I get to share with you a few batters, icings, and glazes with you. First up I will share some yummy batters: Vanilla cake(my personal favorite), Lemon cake, and Brown sugar cake(cool). Now I’ll tell you about some cool icings: peanut butter icing, chocolate icing, and chocolate chip cookie dough icing. Last, I’m going to share some neat glazes: caramel glaze, hot cocoa glaze, and matcha glaze. That’s a list of just a few of some batters, icings, and glazes. The book also includes how to stuff a cupcake! How cool is that? For a little challenge, see if you can come up with a delicious combination of a cake, icing,a topping, and maybe a glaze if you’re up for it. If you come up with something, please let me know by posting a comment. Here is a list of toppings for you: brownie chucks, rainbow sprinkle brittle, and fresh and ripe berries.
I hope you come up with something tasty! If you do, maybe you want to bake it! If that’s the case, maybe you should buy the book! Thanks for answering my question!!! See you next time!
